The crew of the Mercury are called in to assist a friend of Admiral Tawney in disposing of an alleged cursed item that may have killed 13 people on the planet Atooin… as a personal favor to the Admiral. Flane has to bite down on his tongue quite hard, considering the number of reprimands he had racked up at the hands of the very same Admiral for the paranormal content of his mission reports recently, and he is understandably upset. Of course, the ‘Jug of Death’ turns out to be genuine, and as the saying goes, one thing leads to another – and things on Atooin become very interesting…
