For quite a while, readers have asked me if my books are available in audiobook format – and for quite a while, I’ve seen their disappointment when I’ve had to tell them they weren’t… but today all that has changed!
As I promised in February this year, “Blachart” has (finally) been released as an audiobook! It doesn’t usually take this long to go through the production process, and I’m sure the current pandemic must’ve had something to do with it – but regardless, the eagerly-awaited finished product has arrived at last! And – WOW – what a product it is!
As a writer, I’d often imagined the sort of voice I’d like to have my stories heard in – that is, inside the reader’s heads… That said, I can’t quite put into words just how marvelous it is to hear my work, words that I wrote, being not just read aloud in front of a microphone – but interpreted… lived… with depth of emotion and wonderfully appropriate feeling and thought!
Although a number of my short stories had been included in anthologies I’d contributed to when they were turned into audiobooks during 2019, this is the very first time a whole novel of mine has been released as an audiobook – and it was amazing to hear it!
Mr. Peever is also an extraordinary narrator – he not only read the text with emotional expression, but he also included sound effects in the final mix – so the story sounds rather a lot like an old-style radio play, but all read by one person doing different voices and accents! I think it sounds absolutely amazing!
Nigel was also kind enough to redesign the cover for the audiobook as you see it above! The final release of “Blachart” is 10 hours 26 minutes long, and I’m sure you will enjoy it as much as I am!

I also want to take the opportunity to thank Brandon Mullins of Moon Books Publishing for making this happen – without you, things certainly wouldn’t have turned out this way! Also Nigel, who as far as I’m concerned is the best narrator I’ve ever heard – but then, I could be a little biased *wink*!
Nigel meanwhile, is busy with the next book in this series – “Demonspawn” and from listening to the first samples, I can already tell it’s going to be every bit as awesome!
Until next time,
