Hello friends and fans!
A question I’m often asked is “where can I find your books?” so I thought I should make a post about that subject! Here is a list of places where you can find them! For starters, you can find them pretty much anywhere online now – and online means they’re available pretty much worldwide (unless you live in places where things like the internet are verboten!)
My books on the international market:
The following online stores are based outside South Africa but also distribute to SA and have easily accessible payment methods (debit/credit cards, PayPal etc.) These are also listed with the best or biggest at the top.
- Amazon – when all else fails, there’s Amazon. They sell my books in eBook, paperback and audiobook versions, and at least offer visitors the courtesy of viewing prices in South African Rands. All you need to do is point at the little flag displayed in the title bar at the top of the screen to change the options. Most of the eBooks there retail around R50, which isn’t bad – except that Amazon is the greediest platform of the lot, keeping the lion’s share of proceeds for itself, giving the change to the poor author. Links in the slider below all point to the books on Amazon.
- Audible – If audiobooks are your thing, I have 22 titles already available on Audible. Audible is connected to Amazon and has the same secure payment options, and audiobooks from Audible are also available via Amazon itself.
- Payhip – Payhip is a website-based e-commerce platform that allows individuals to list and sell digital products (eBooks, PDFs, photos, videos, audiobooks, music, courses, or any other type of digital product really) directly to their customers. Most of my books are available from my shop page on there. Payhip is based out of the UK and has secure payment features.
- Patreon – although Patreon exists mainly to help creators gather subscribers, you also get the option to set up a store on there, and I have! Most of my novels are available on there in eBook format, and at a discount price. Subscribers/patrons get even more discounts!
- Buy Me A Coffee – I have a similar eBook store set-up on Buy Me A Coffee.
Especially For My South African Readers – Where To Find My books IN South Africa:
The exchange rate from Souf Efriken Ronts to USD, Pounds and Euros is… well, it’s pretty damn horrible these days, innit? So… Instead of listing sites like Loot or Takealot (whose names tend to live up to their names if you look at the unbelievable prices they list my books for) and using marketing keywords like “just” or “only” and throwing in a “.99c” here and there to try to influence you, I’d rather forego the mention entirely, and recommend you rather buy digital copies of my books from overseas vendors (in eBook or audiobook formats) because they work out far cheaper than buying print books imported into South Africa through numerous middlemen. How physical bookshops survive in this country is quite beyond me! Have you seen the shipping costs for a single book these days, off Amazon?! It costs MORE than the flipping book! What the actual profit-gouging, Amazon?!
It’s sad, but that’s the reality of life for us as South Africans today. Everything just goes up and up – except our salaries and the distance between income and cost of living, which just keeps getting narrower and tighter, right?
Fortunately, most of us have internet access – and that brings places like those I listed at the top of the page right to your door! So you see, you can find my books very easily – even if you live in South Africa – and now that you know this, I hope to be seeing a lot more of you!
That’s all for now!
As always, feel free to email me if you have any comments or questions!
Cheers!
