Good morning, friends and fans!
Welcome to a “Peek Into My Week”! Here’s a look at some of my latest news: December 12, 2022!
Here are some things that happened this past week. After the last few weeks that were crazy busy, this week seems a little docile in comparison – but it is the end of the year! At least I have some great new reviews of the audiobooks to show you!
News About Writing & Publishing: This Is The Current State Of Things
Let’s take a look at the current status quo on various ongoing issues affecting my writing or publishing:
- Audiobooks on ACX: The process of transferring my audiobooks from Moon Books Publishing’s ACX account to Nigel Peever‘s ACX account is 99% complete. The audiobook for “High Steaks” is the last outstanding item on the list! “High Steaks” was finally made available on Audible a week ago, meaning that it is now simply awaiting transfer to Peever Publishing! The end of this year-long process is truly in sight!
- Recording & New Audiobooks: On Wednesday, Nigel formally accepted the assignment of the Panic! Horror In Space series recordings to Peever Publishing and set the wheels in motion to getting them on the PP listing as soon as Darla submits the finished recordings! Darla meanwhile has got over her bad cold sufficiently to continue recording, and it’s all very exciting indeed!
- Writing: As work was hectic this past week, I didn’t get much writing done, but I did do some editing and formatting for another project handed to me by Nigel of Peever Publishing; to be announced!
- Articles: This last week, I posted “Christina Engela’s Monthly Newsletter: #72 December 2022“.
- What The Readers Say: I received the following positive reviews this past week:
“Opsaal” received this review on Audible on Dec 1, 2022:
Chilling
“This is an intriguing South African story, with theme of African witchcraft. Well written and good narration.” – Pattwee, review on Audible, 01 December, 2022.
“Blachart” received the following review on Audible on 4 Dec:
Blachart
“A romping space opera. Engela’s writing put me in the mind of a cross between origin 60s Trek and Honor Harrington. It was enjoyable and pacy. There were a few too many C20th references for me, which pulled me out of the story at times. Nigel Peevers narration and audio accompaniments were an excellent addition. I marvel at how much effort he must have put in!” – PJM, Blachart review on Audible, December 4, 2022.
“Demonspawn” received the following review on Audible on 6 Dec:
A ghost ship brings both hope and fear
“Demonspawn is one wildly intense thrill ride of a story set within the darkness of space. The I.S.S Mordrake is facing a disastrous situation as their captain’s miscalculations in the heat of battle have left the ship stranded and slowly dying… with only a miracle that could save them. In a disturbing twist of fate, someone has murdered their captain leaving the XO to helm a morose crew while unraveling who ended Captain’s Blaine life. Everything changes the moment an ancient and abandoned ship floats within range, offering the Mordrake their “miracle” and move to salvage to bring life back to their ship. Aboard this empty ship is a dark entity that is setting its sights upon the Mordrake crew as its now hunting ground; forcing the crew to fight not only for their own future but finally bring peace to a haunted ship. Narrator Nigel Peeve once more delivers an extraordinary performance you won’t soon forget. Highly recommended.” – Lori, review on audible, 06 December 2022.
“Black Sunrise” also received a 5 star rating for the story on 7 December!
