Good morning, friends and fans!
Welcome to a “Peek Into My Week”! Here’s a look at some of my latest news: December 19, 2022!
Here are some things that happened this past week. After the last few weeks that were crazy busy, this week seems a little docile in comparison – but it is the end of the year! At least I have some great new reviews of the audiobooks to show you!
News About Writing & Publishing: This Is The Current State Of Things
Let’s take a look at the current status quo on various ongoing issues affecting my writing or publishing:
- Audiobooks on ACX: The process of transferring my audiobooks from Moon Books Publishing’s ACX account to Nigel Peever‘s ACX account is 99% complete. I’m still waiting for the audiobook for “High Steaks” to be transferred, then it’s all done!
- Recording & New Audiobooks: I haven’t heard anything new lately about the new audiobooks being recorded by Darla Middlebrook, but I assume things are well in-hand and underway.
- Marketing: During the week I was notified that short stories I submitted to “SFN Anthology 2023” were accepted! More news about that as it happens.
- Writing: This past week I worked on the editing side of a commissioned work for Peever Publishing: “Christina Engela Investigates: Pirates of the Sea & Sky”. In order for there to be an audiobook, there has to be an eBook or paperback first! Thus far I’ve been gathering public domain short stories about pirates and also submissions sent by some authors, and preparing the formatting of the finished article. So far there will be contributions by Matt Bradley Tshirgi and Thomas M. Malafarina and Anya Louw to look forward to! More about this to follow.
- Articles: This last week, I posted “Forewords, Prologues, Prefaces & Introductions Explained“, “The Interrobang – What Is It?!” and “Asterism Or Dinkus – What’s In A Name?“.
- Marketing: “Black Sunrise” got an honorable mention and a share over at Queer Scifi on the 15th.
- What The Readers Say:
“Demonspawn” received the following review on Audible on 9 Dec:Demonspawn
“Another good space opera romp in the shadow of Trek meets Aliens. More great narration from Nigel Peever.” – PJM, review on Audible, 09 December, 2022.
I also found the following quote shares on Flickr and Twitter this past week:
Other Stuff
This week I haven’t much to show you in this section, so here is a selection of ducks wearing hats! The last one is positively sinister – I love it! Enjoy!
Submissions are still open! Don’t forget to Send Your Submissions Now: Schtick! Webzine for Sci-fi & Transgressive Fiction!
That’s all for this week!
As always, I’ll keep you posted about any further developments. And remember:
In spite of some of my books having been on Amazon since 2005, not one of them has yet reached 10 reviews, let alone 50! I would really appreciate your help on this! Come on, leave a review – it’s free!
I wish you all a pleasant week until next time!
